Protect Your Kidneys, Heart & Vision. The “Annual Audit” for Every Diabetic.

Managing Diabetes is about more than just checking Sugar. High blood sugar acts like slow-moving acid in your bloodstream. Over time, it silently corrodes the tiny blood vessels in your eyes, kidneys, and nerves.

Many patients wait for symptoms—like blurry vision or swelling in the feet—before checking these organs. By then, the damage is often permanent.

The Diabetes Complication Profile is designed for the diagnosed diabetic. It goes beyond sugar levels to screen the specific organs that diabetes attacks first. It answers the scary question: “Is my diabetes starting to harm my body?”

What This Profile Covers & Why It Matters

This profile investigates the “Target Organs” (Kidney, Heart, Metabolism) using specialized markers:

1. The “Truth Check” (Glycemic Control)

  • Tests: HbA1c, Fasting Glucose, Post-Prandial (PP) Glucose.

  • The Advantage:

    • The Full Picture: We don’t just check your sugar now (Fasting/PP); we check your control over the last 90 days (HbA1c).

    • PP Glucose (2 Hours after food): This is critical. Many patients have normal fasting sugar but huge spikes after lunch. These spikes are what damage blood vessels.

2. The “Kidney Shield” (Early Nephropathy Screen)

  • Tests: Urine Microalbumin, Serum Creatinine, Blood Urea, Uric Acid.

  • The Advantage:

    • Urine Microalbumin: (The USP of this profile). Standard kidney tests (Creatinine) only rise after 50% of kidney function is lost. Microalbumin detects the tiniest leakage of protein years before kidney failure starts. It is the “Smoke Alarm” for your kidneys.

    • Creatinine & Urea: Checks the current filtration capacity of your kidneys.

3. The Heart & Stroke Screen (Cardiovascular Risk)

  • Tests: Lipid Profile (Cholesterol, Triglycerides, HDL, LDL).

  • The Advantage:

    • Diabetics are 2-4 times more likely to have heart disease. High sugar makes cholesterol “sticky,” clogging arteries faster. We check Triglycerides, which are often dangerously high in uncontrolled diabetes.

4. The Infection & General Health Check

  • Tests: Complete Urine Analysis (Routine & Microscopic).

  • The Advantage:

    • Diabetics are prone to silent Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs) and passing sugar/ketones in urine. This test monitors hydration and infection status.

Who Should Book This Test?

  • Diagnosed Diabetics: Everyone with Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes should do this once every 6 to 12 months.

  • The “Uncontrolled” Patient: If your sugar has been high recently.

  • Long-Term Patients: If you have had diabetes for more than 5 years (risk of complications increases with time).

  • Symptoms: If you notice foamy urine, swelling in ankles, or numbness in feet.

Patient Preparation (Two-Step Process) Optional

This test requires two samples on the same day.

  1. Morning Sample (Fasting):

    • Fasting: 10-12 Hours strict fasting required.

    • Medication: Do not take your diabetes tablet/insulin before this sample.

  2. Afternoon Sample (Post-Prandial/PP):

    • The Meal: Eat your regular breakfast/lunch immediately after the first sample. Take your diabetes medication as usual with this meal.

    • The Timing: Give the second blood sample exactly 2 hours after you started eating your meal.

    • Note: Do not eat anything else between the meal and the 2-hour sample. Water is allowed.

Why Choose the Diabetes Complication Profile?

Most patients focus only on getting their sugar down. We focus on keeping your organs safe. By catching Microalbumin (Kidney stress) or High Triglycerides (Heart stress) early, you can often reverse the damage before it becomes permanent.
